Classes for 10 to 13 year olds - 5th-8th Grades
Instructor: Ms. Stacy
Fall 2026 Class Offerings
These classes are designed to ignite curiosity and excitement, offering a thrilling adventure in learning. With an irresistible blend of subjects, from mathematics and entrepreneurship to art, history, writing, and science, each project-based lesson invites students into an immersive, high-energy environment where creativity knows no bounds.
Middle School Math/ELA Core Class
Mathematics will focus on linear algebra. So, solving equations, simplifying expressions, integers, graphing and applications of these things embedded in word problems and real-life situations. Required number sense would be the ability to work with decimals, fractions and percents.
ELA would be a mix of reading historical fiction novels, philosophy and logical fallacies where we will create interactive journals, do projects, debate, and write argumentation essays.
In-class days will be about introducing the mathematical concepts and answering questions and at home would be time to practice the concepts. For ELA it will be discussions, reflections and writing/editing and at home they would do a majority of the reading.
Class Days: Mondays
Class Time: 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Duration: 14 weeks
Semester Cost: $600
The Mathematical Art Studio
Math is everywhere! It is what provides order to the sometimes seemingly chaotic. In this course we will create and construct beautiful and fun art using math! From tessellations inspired by MC Esher, 3D sculptures, to pixel and line art!
Below are the concepts with which we will engage:
Coordinate plane graphing: single and quadrant
Functions: linear and non-linear
Symmetry: linear and radial
Tessellations and Transformations: translation, rotation, reflection and dilation
Ratios and Proportions and scale factor
Geometric constructions
Surface area, volume, nets of polyhedrons
*Students will be expected to attend to precision and use mathematical tools such as rulers, compasses and protractors
Class Days: Tuesdays
Class Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Duration: 14 weeks
Semester Cost: $780 Charter funds/$675 Private Pay (Understanding our program fees)
World Connection & Cuisine
Pack your bags — we are going on a global adventure! In World Connection & Cuisine, students will explore how different cultures celebrate life through festivals, food, music, and traditions. From Holi’s colorful festival to Japan’s cherry blossom season, we will discover what makes each celebration unique — and what connects us all as global citizens.
Each week, we will journey to a new country, learning about its customs, geography, and history through hands-on activities, stories, art, and simple culinary projects inspired by authentic dishes (no cooking experience required!). Along the way, students will gain a deeper appreciation for diversity, respect for cultural traditions, and a sense of global community.
